oh the arrogance
what a simple minded fool you must be
to think that you could hold me down
how many times must you fail
don’t you know who my Father is

what ignorance must possess you
you evil lying snake
to think that you could take my inheritance
you will not rob me of my blessing
my Father is the King

and i am more than a conqueror
i am a daughter, a princess
precious in His sight
He calls me His beloved
i am the apple of His eye

destined for greatness
Freedom is mine
because He said so
and He is with me
and He is over you

ever hoping

closed tight but leaning
ever leaning towards that Glorious Light
slowly growing and changing
ever changing into what i was made to be
waking each day to a new dawn
eager for rain to fall
when it does though
oh do i sit drenched and wonder
how could i ever unfold without drowning
still sun beckons me to open
to the warmth and Life it brings
uncertain but too tired to keep holding on
petal releases petal and i find myself
exposed to the sky and all the world
unable to hide any longer
hoping ever hoping all the promises whispered
of Love and Grace will shine on me
this New Day

was a tiny little nothing of a spec once
fallen from the branch where i was born
to the earth where i was pushed into the ground
darkness covered my small self
days and nights i dreamed of Light
one day sun peeked in
i stretched at the sight of it
drops covered me
soaked i grew and grew
face to the sky what things i saw
In praise i threw out my arms
rooted in dirt yes
but not unable to dance in the wind
breathing life in and out
reaching upward
making shorter the distance from me to Him
hope and expectation filling me
that one day we would embrace
